Making an Appointment

Approximately half of all appointments to see a doctor or the nurse practitioner are available to book on the day. Most of the appointments to see the practice nurses and health care assistants are bookable in advance. Appointments can either be made by visiting the surgery or by telephoning 01727 832125.

When you make your request for an appointment you will be offered an appointment with a doctor or the nurse practitioner for the same day provided that your request is received by 1.00 pm. Where possible, you will be booked with a doctor of your choice but this cannot be guaranteed due to holidays, study leave and other NHS commitments.

Approximately half of all appointments to see a doctor or the nurse practitioner are available to pre-book up to two weeks in advance. You may find this option helpful if you need to plan ahead.

It is also possible to book these doctors’ appointments on-line. Please ask at the surgery for details on how to register for on-line booking. If you have already registered for this service please click on the following link: emisaccess

If you need advice that does not require a face-to-face consultation or need to discuss your test results, the reception team can book a telephone consultation with a doctor or the nurse practitioner. The reception team will arrange for the doctor or nurse practitioner to ring you back when they are free.  Telephone consultations are available Monday to Friday.

If you are unable to attend an appointment please advise us so that we avoid wasting precious doctor time.

The surgery can be very busy during the first hour of opening so if you need services such as requesting results of tests or general information, please telephone later.

Emergency Care

Cases of potentially serious or life threatening emergencies such as severe chest pain or collapse, are best managed by calling for an ambulance or paramedics by dialing 999 without delay.

You may telephone the Surgery on 01727 856511. You will either speak to the receptionist during normal surgery hours or be directed to NHS Direct.
