Repeat Prescriptions Service

Patients are able to order repeat prescriptions on-line. If you would like to register for this service please ask at the surgery for more details. If you have already registered please click on the following link:

Patients may arrange with their doctor to receive medication by a repeat prescription without seeing them.

Medication can only be given in this way if it has been prescribed and agreed by the doctor beforehand.

All repeat prescriptions will need reviewing at some stage and a message on the repeat prescription slip attached to each prescription will tell you when your medication review is due. You will then need to make an appointment with the doctor or nurse.

Medication started by a hospital specialist will normally require you to see your doctor first since some medicines may not need repeating, may require changes or require monitoring.

Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

Patients may leave their repeat prescription slip at the surgery reception in person, post it to the surgery including a self-addressed envelope, fax it to the surgery (836384) or order repeat items on-line (see above).

You should indicate clearly which of your medication you require by ticking the drugs you need on the repeat prescription slip or by indicating this in your letter.

Patients are asked to request their medication at least a week before running out since it takes two working days to process and check a prescription request.

Many chemists now offer a prescription collection service whereby they will pick up your prescription from the surgery and you can then pick up your medicines directly from them.  If you wish to collect your medication in this way then you should 'ring' which pharmacy the prescription should be sent to at the bottom of the repeat prescription slip or indicate this in your letter. This service is very useful for both the patient and the practice and one that we encourage.

Prescriptions can be collected in person from the surgery.

Electronic Prescription Management Service (ePMS)

This service allows patients to register with a home delivery pharmacy and then order repeat medication on-line or by telephone. After electronic authorisation by the surgery, the pharmacy will dispense the medication and deliver it to the patient at home or at work by secure, recorded delivery.
